Happy Socks Disney - SKEAK PEAK

So, why is Disney such a legendary brand?

Whilst Walt Disney passed away in 1966 his brand still lives on and on. The company Disney is now worth over 171 billion pounds. How crazy is that? As we know, Disney started as a a mass media company called "The Walt Disney Company". In fact, they started making animations as far back as the late 1920s. Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs is the first and oldest feature length animated film released by Disney. This film was released on February 8th, 1938. Since then, Disney have continued to produce innovative, exciting and simply iconic films such as CinderellaBeauty and the Beast, The Lion King and most recently Frozen.

Disney did not stop there though. Films were just the base for the humungous empire that we all know and love today. Disneyland was opened in 1955 in California which was a defining moment for the brand. The site boasted a huge array of attractions for families to try, Disney characters walked throughout and there are even Disney shaped food stalls. The pure differentiation to all other theme parks made this place very attractive and visitor numbers were booming. So much so that now in 2021 there are 12 Disneylands spotted around the world.

Have Disney only made films?

Eventually, Disney took their entertainment expertise to the TV screen by launching "Disney Channel" which featured programs such as Hannah Montana and High School Music. These shows were a huge part of my childhood. The brand continued to impress with every single film that they released and Disney went on to collaborate with Pixar on several movies including Monsters Inc. and Finding Nemo.

One day, Disney actually purchased Pixar for almost £10 billion and shortly after, Marvel for £3 billion and a few years later, Lucasfilm for £3 billion. No only that, but on TV, Disney purchased 21st Century Fox for a whopping £54.6 billion which is now called "20th Century film studios". This gave Disney the opportunity to create media such as X-MenThe Simpsons and Fantastic Four.

More recently, Disney have created re-makes of their most adored films. This has been done in live-action versions which just shows that the brand's innovation is infinite. These films can be found on Disney+ which was released in 2019. This platform showcases all of Disney's work over the years including old classics as well as new. Disney truly will never die.

Whilst all of this is going on Disney have been partnering with clothing brands all over the globe to make limited edition collections. Designed for true Disney lovers. From Gucci to Primark to Happy Socks. Their foot is firmly secured in the fashion world.
